Sue Burnett founded Burnett Personnel Services in 1974. Encouraged by a booming Houston oil and gas industry based economy and operating on a $10,000 loan, Burnett became profitable in the first year.

  • 1974 –Burnett Personnel Services was founded by Sue Burnett.
  • 1976 – Rusty Burnett joined the firm and started the professional division of Burnett
  • 1977 – Burnett Temporaries was started
  • 1981 – Four Houston offices
  • 1983 – Opened Austin office
  • 1996 – Opened El Paso office
  • 1999 – Opened Dallas office – Choice Staffing Services
  • 2000 – Changed our name to Burnett Staffing Specialists to reflect the diversity of our services
  • 2001 – Opened San Antonio office
  • 2007 – Opened The Woodlands office
  • 2010 – Became an Employee-Owned Business
  • 2011 – United States’ 2nd Largest Employee-Owned Staffing Firm– National Center for Employee Ownership
  • 2011 – Offices in 5 Texas markets - Houston, Austin, El Paso, San Antonio and Dallas (Choice Staffing Services)
