Senior Buyer - MRP / Manufacturing Required

A Logistics company located in the Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Buyer - MRP / Manufacturing Required to add to their team.

To qualify for this Direct Hire position, you must have Manufacturing or retail buying/purchasing is required , MRP experience in JDEdwards or SAP or similar ERP MM module, 5 plus years of experience with a Bachelors or more experience without degree, and forecasting/strategic planning abilities must be strong.

In this position you will be responsible for buying and purchasing for a very large company. This is a Senior Buyer for a Global Logistics company at their corporate headquarters in Houston. They have over 45,000 employees. This location is near the Airport (IAH). They are looking for 4-5 Senior Buyers with a Strong background in purchasing for manufacturing companies that have LARGE quantity orders. Its purchasing for anything from basic cleaning supplies, office equipment and furniture to the hundreds of parts that go into a electronic device. They don't directly manufacture anything nor directly buy it.. its for their thousands of clients. There will be a huge amount of planning, forecasting, shipment tracking, buying to forecasts, critical and normal orders, lots of critical thinking.. making sure all the parts are coming together. This will be supporting 9 regions/warehouses. Must have experience with ERPs in the Manufacturing module or an MRP like JDEdwards or SAP. Must be excellent in Excel in reporting and V lookup. Someone who is experienced with contract buying is key. A good listener, fast worker, very strategic thinker. 5 plus years of experience is required. They would like someone with a college degree, but it is not required with strong tenure and experience. They will consider candidates with a contracting background. This position will report to the Materials and Planning Manager that they are also recruiting for and that person will report to the VP of Purchasing also located at this site. There will be a small amount of travel: less than 20% and just domestically to other operations sites. Dress attire is business casual. Company will run a background check, Basic Credit Check and Full Drug Testing.

Pay - $60 - $80k
