A Logistics company located in the Houston, TX area is seeking
a Materials and Planning Manager to add to their team.
To qualify for this Direct Hire position, you must have Bachelors Degree is highly preferred , 10+ years of experience in planning and buying on a large scale, 5+ years in management of purchasing, planning and buying, and a STRONG knowledge in MRPs such as JDEdwards and SAP.
In this position you will be responsible for running the main headquarters for the purchasing department. 10+ years of experience, 5 solid in management, running a team of 5 employees and can even virtually manage employees possibly at other locations. 10 years in buying and planning is a must.
Materials and Planning Manager for a Global Logistics company at their corporate headquarters in Houston. They have over 45,000 employees. This location is near the Airport (IAH). They are looking for 4-5 Senior Buyers and a Materials and Planning Manager with a Strong background in purchasing for manufacturing companies that have LARGE quantity orders. They are moving their purchasing headquarters to Houston and will need to build the office locally.
The position will be managing the purchasing for anything from basic cleaning supplies, office equipment and furniture to the hundreds of parts that go into a electronic device. They don't directly manufacture anything nor directly buy it.. its for their thousands of clients.
There will be a huge amount of managing the planning, forecasting, shipment tracking, buying to forecasts, critical and normal orders, lots of critical thinking.. making sure all the parts are coming together. This will be supporting 9 regions/warehouses.
Must have experience with ERPs in the Manufacturing module or an MRP like JDEdwards or SAP. Must be excellent in Excel in reporting and V lookup.
Someone who is experienced with contract buying is key. A good listener is key for the manager and someone who can streamline processes and offer improvement suggestions and keep the department error free.
10 plus years of experience is required. They would like someone with a college degree. They will consider candidates with a contracting background. This position will report to the VP of Purchasing also located at this site.
There will be a small amount of travel: less than 20% and just domestically to other operations sites.
Dress attire is business casual.
Company will run a background check, Basic Credit Check and Full Drug Testing.
Pay - $90 - $100k
